Non-Ferrous Metals
There are a wide range of metals that are used in industrial production besides ferrous materials, namely light and non-ferrous metals. Light metals are often used in the aerospace industry, where it comes down to saving weight while still maintaining the high demands regarding the strength of the material. For this reason, they are also becoming increasingly popular in car manufacturing. As another example one could also mention titanium, which is used for many applications in the area of medical technology.
Non-ferrous metals on the other hand are often used when the mechanical properties are of less importance than the bearing properties or the thermal conductivity.
Applicable non-ferrous metals
- Non-ferrous metals copper
- Light metals aluminium 6061 (beta) Ti64 (beta)
- Other metals tungsten (beta)
