Plastics are used in many areas and are suited for the production of many parts. With the ExAM systems you are able to print plastic parts directly from plastic pellets. This way, you no longer need a special filament made out of a material similar to your desired one. Simply use the pellets that you would normally use for the production of your serial parts and save yourself the comparison between the different materials of your serial parts and your prototypes. Furthermore, you can substitute existing FDM/FFF systems, which process ABS or PLA, with the ExAM system or use the ExAM system to compensate for production peaks in the plastics sector when you do not need the capacities in the metal sector at that moment.
